Brookdale Care News

The gateway towards independence!

Posted: 2010-03-11 | Author: Autism News

I am Edward Manning, a service user at Brookdale Care, and have been since August 2008. I can now see a bright future and a successful life while I am here with Brookdale Care with all the support I get and with the amount of things I am achieving and learning.

The staff do a great job and the company should be very pleased with what they can do to help people with special needs and the work they do to make sure things are safe, service users are happy and comfortable. Staff are now working with me to improve my budgeting, time management and supporting me to become more independent so that I can spend my time on doing the things I enjoy.

I enjoy going out with a member of staff from Eynesbury House. We go shopping, to the leisure centre or the cinema and we go on day trips to places I am interested in. Recently we have been to London, Hatfield House and Oxburgh Hall.

I am Chelsea Football Club's number one fan and get to see some of their matches.  I enjoy travelling to the matches and meeting with all the other supporters.

I have started bell ringing at the local church, I practice every Friday with the other bell ringers and I really enjoy it.

With me, learning new things and getting on in life while I am with Brookdale Care is very important. I am very happy to say that I appreciate every hour of all the support and hard work everyone does to make my life easier and better with my High-Functioning Autism.
