Enabling independent living, improving services and assessments
This conference sets out to explain the implications of the newly launched adult autism strategy; Fulfilling and Rewarding Lives. The conference will provide examples of best practice case studies, expert opinion, debate and discussion on:
• Improving the commissioning of services to enable independent living
• Embedding new ways of working in care provision
• Developing and implementing effective partnerships for autism care
• Making personalisation work for autistic adults
• Effective assessment and diagnosis for adults
• Evaluating preferential housing options
• Helping adults on the autistic spectrum into work
• Autism specific staff learning and development
Experienced autism speakers include:
• Anya Ustaszewski - Composer / Sonic Artist and Musician and A person with Asperger syndrome
• Elaine Hill - Autism Lead Department of Health
• Professor Imogen Taylor - Head of Department - Social Care and Social Work, University of Sussex
• Carol Povey - Director of the Centre for Autism, National Autistic Society
