Training & Development
On commencement of employment all staff are required to undertake an induction programme which includes training in line with the TOPPS framework. Induction training comprises of:
- Introduction to Autistic Spectrum Disorders
- Manual Handling
- Infection control
- Health and safety incorporating COSSH and RIDOR
- Equal Opportunities and Cultural Awareness
- First Aid
- Food Hygiene
- Fire Safety
- Introduction to Mental Health
- Introduction to the Mental Health Act
- Protection of Vulnerable Adults (POVA)
- Managing behaviours which challenge services
- Personal Safety.
Brookdale Care encourages our staff to engage with the NVQ award scheme at level 2, 3 or 4 dependent on their role within the company and skills at time of undertaking the award.
As Brookdale has a diverse client group, staff are also trained in the following areas:

- Signing training
