Events & Conferences

Each year there are a number of conferences and events aimed at care professionals and families working with people on the Autistic Spectrum. Brookdale Care attends these events to ensure that our clinical and management team can share best practice in supporting people on the Autistic Spectrum and to raise awareness of the specialist hospital, residential and supported living services we provide.  We thought you might be interested in learning more about them as well.

We also organise autism seminars within our services that you may be interested in the attending. Please contact us on info@brookdalecare.co.uk to see if we have any free tickets available for these events.

Health Service Journal is hosting its Forensic Mental Health Services conference, taking place on 15th March 2011 in London.

Forensic mental health is a complex and specialist service area, going through unprecedented times. The Bradley Review has intensified the drive to secure services away from prisons and into more appropriate facilities for offenders with severe mental health problems.

With the increasing pressure to develop the systems of care needed to divert offenders into forensic mental health services, public sector funding cuts and a drastic increase in prison population, what will the fall for forensic mental health services be?

Uniting professionals from across the country working in and with forensic mental health services, this conference will explore a range of specific challenges, including quality in forensic mental health services, understanding the priorities for commissioners of forensic mental health services, the appropriate provision of services for offenders with Personality Disorders and the improvement of whole forensic mental health care pathways.

Hear from Lord Bradley on what the future holds for forensic mental health and how you can overcome future challenges

Overcoming the challenges facing forensic mental health services under the new government

  • Reviewing the progression of forensic mental health services since the Bradley Report: Clarifying what more needs to be achieved between health and the criminal justice system
  • Defining the economic case for secure services and recommendations on improved value for money services in a challenging economic climate
  • Recruiting a well trained and skilled workforce to deliver essential, high quality services
  • Setting the record straight in the world of criminal justice: Addressing the economic imbalance of funding between prisons and hospitals
Take part in interactive discussions with peers and discuss risks and how to manage them effectively and  they way forensic mental health is perceived by the community.
