| Introduction |
1. To provide a caring residential and day service provision which caters to individual’s specific needs and disabilities associated with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) whilst maintaining respect and dignity at all times.
2. To ensure that the aims and objectives of the home are met at all times and to undertake direct or indirect care to service users’ or a service user as part of the team, under the supervision of the Senior Support Worker/Team Leader and Registered Manager.
3. To work with the team in the maintenance of a safe and therapeutic environment for service users’. To carry out duties as delegated to facilitate the smooth running of the home.
4. To provide care, support and escort duties as required in accordance with clients care plans. This will also require you to undertake driving duties as necessary using Brookdale Care vehicles.

Minimum £8.33 per hour (London weighting for homes in Barnet £9.14 per hour) |

| Key responsibilities |
1. To assist in the delivery of the service users’ care by engaging in tasks as delegated by the Senior Support Worker/Team Leader and or Registered Manager as indicated by the service users’ individual care plan. To assist in all aspects of personal care, toileting, dressing, eating, personal hygiene and intimate personal care.
2. To assist the Team Leader/Senior Support Worker and or Registered Manager in the assessment, monitoring and evaluation of the service users’ conditions, by reporting any changes and observations.
3. When required, to assist the Team Leader/Senior Support Worker/Registered Manager in supporting the service users’ with their daily requirements for:
• Physical and psychological support
• Occupational therapy
• Recreational and social activities
• Any other therapeutic interventions
• Drug/Medication procedures
4. To ensure that any relevant documentation and reports i.e. care plans, diaries, health and safety, maintenance is carried out during a working shift.
5. To promote therapeutic relationships, respecting the uniqueness of each service user, acting in a non-judgemental manner, promoting the rights of the individual at all times. To work with the Multi Displinary Team to promote a therapeutic environment.
6. To ensure that the highest quality of care is maintained at all times and to consistently display a courteous and helpful manner.
7. To contribute appropriately to effective communication with service users’, significant others and members of the multidisciplinary team and to promote good working relationships within the staff team and the community.
8. To ensure that due regard is given to service users’ customs, values, culture, religious and spiritual beliefs, always acting in a facilitative manner that promotes residents dignity, independence and choice.
