Edward Manning (Service User) at the Autism Show London

Edward Manning attended the Autism Show at ExCel in London on 12th & 13th June. Edward helped on the Brookdale stand and was available to answer any
questions people had on what it is like living at a Brookdale home.

Edward also travelled to London and stayed overnight in a hotel by himself which is a big achievement.

Edward had a 20 minute speaking slot at the Autism Hub where he spoke to over 100 people.  Edward spoke about his life, and how far he has progressed and highlighted all this achievements so far, including gaining employment, learning about financial management and moving onto Elm House supported living in the next couple of weeks.

Edward spoke about how Brookdale have helped him achieve these accomplishments and have given him more confidence and be able to achieve things he never thought he could of accomplished before being in our care.

Edward spoke professionally in front of a capacity crowd and was brilliant. He received a standing
ovation and lots of people after the congratulated him on his achievements and how well he spoke.

I don’t know many people who would have felt confident enough to talk about their life’s achievements in front of 100 people, so WELL DONE EDWARD.
